How to Measure

Welcome to UpCurtains, your trusted factory-direct partner for custom curtains and aluminium windows.
Follow this guide to measure your windows accurately for a perfect fit.

一、Tools You’ll Need

●       Metal measuring tape (not fabric)

●       Pen and paper or phone note

●       Level or measuring app

●       A helper — large windows are easier with two people

Measurement unit: All dimensions must be in millimetres (mm) for accuracy.

二、 Inside Mount vs Outside Mount

Inside Mount

●       Installed inside the window frame for a clean, built-in look.

●       Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom — record the smallest result.

●       Measure the height on the left, centre, and right — record the smallest result.

Outside Mount

●       Mounted on the wall or outside the frame — ideal for full coverage and block-out.

●       Add 50–100 mm on each side of the width, and 100 mm above + 50 mm below the opening height.

三、Australian Building & Safety Notes

All UpCurtains products comply with Australian standards and local building codes:

●       AS2047 & AS1288: Windows and glazing must meet water, wind, and safety standards.

●       Bushfire Zones (BAL Rating): Use BAL-40 or BAL-FZ compliant frames and glass in bushfire areas.

●       Energy Efficiency: We recommend Low-E or IGU double glazing to meet the 7-Star NatHERS requirement.

●       Child Safety: Openings below 1700 mm from the floor must include a window restrictor or lock.
